Our communities need EMDR therapists trained to respond in the time of need such as natural and man-made disasters.

This training equips therapists to provide EMDR Early Intervention in response to psychological needs when individuals and communities are hurting.

Developed by Elan Shapiro and Bruit Laub, the R-TEP and G-TEP early intervention protocols provide EMDR therapists effective approaches to response to major crises in your community, state and world!

Dr. E. C. Hurley, DMin, PhD has provide EMDR EEI response following hurricanes such as Katrina and tornados in locations such as Moore, OK and middle Tennessee.  He is the author of a chapter on EMDR Early Intervention in his soon to be published book on A Clinicians Guide in Treating Active Military and Veterans with EMDR Therapy, published by Springer Publishing (in press).

                                                  Training Objectives

Participants will:

•      Learn self-soothing techniques such as the Four Elements in
        preparation for EMDR early intervention.

•        Discuss the key concepts and procedures of the EMDR Recent-
        Traumatic Events protocol. 

•        Complete a practicum experience in using the R-TEP for the treatment
         of recent event

        Discuss the Key concepts and procedures of the Group-Traumatic
         Events protocol (G-TEP).

•        Complete a practicum experience using the G-TEP in treating a group
         of traumatized persons.
